Introduction.

IE School of Architecture is part of the international academic scene, offering a realm for architectural creation based on the intersection between design, innovation and management. It welcomes anyone who would like to improve our way of living by redefining space and urban standards, all in line with a new way of understanding technique, culture and a commitment to the environment.

IE School of Architecture is a school with unique characteristics; a cosmopolitan, diverse institution connected to benchmark international institutions. It also has three locations, which give it unique possibilities:

• the metropolitan campus in Madrid, the venue for the post-graduate degree,
• the suburban campus in Segovia, the venue for the Bachelor degree, and
• the virtual campus, a worldwide space for online learning.

IE School of Architecture promotes collaboration with prestigious universities. It already has agreements with the Polytechnic of Milan, the Bauhaus-Universität in Germany, the Evtek Institute of Art and Design in Finland, the University of Geneva and the University of Guadalajara in Mexico, as well as with the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London.

But above, all, IE School of Architecture seeks enthusiasts who view creation as a vital urge, and based on that see themselves as entrepreneurs with the ability to spearhead the necessary changes in the profession: these are the people who view architecture as their vocation and will use it as a principle of action for social change.

We also welcome young people who see themselves as citizens of the world and want an academic experience with a global mindset; people who view their education as an international journey that will broaden their horizons.

This educational process is also targeted to people who, aware of the wealth of architecture, view it as an encounter between technique and culture. They are the humanists of the future who, through this education, will take on their responsibility in society.

At IE University we want students to have access to a period of immersion in the reality of the profession, as well as in research studies or field work. IE School of Architecture will offer a list of available internships and short-term research grants for students to help out on projects already underway at the school and at other schools abroad. It also has a materials and construction laboratory to support technical subjects.

Through integration workshops, students at IE School of Architecture will have the chance to integrate the key subjects in their learning, a sequence that will culminate in the end-of-degree project. Likewise, in the experimentation workshops they will cross the boundaries of architecture through its intersection with related disciplines like video, photography, painting, virtual reality, etc. Finally, the subjects in the IE Module will enable them to study the organizational and business model appropriate for creative teams in architecture.

In short, the IE architect will be the reflection of an education based on complexity, which aims for excellence in design, innovation and entrepreneurship.

The Program.
