An inclusive vision of Art
We view art and the arts inclusively. In the Bachelor in Art History you will study art in all its artistic expressions and aesthetics, including photography, literature, and the visual arts. In addition to Western Art, the program comprises the most relevant artistic expressions in African, Islamic, and Oriental Art.
A Work in progress
Art is a changing and dynamic field, thus we place a particular focus on the Contemporary Arts where new trends and ideas are continually emerging. In our program, contemporary art does not only comprise 20th century art, but includes today's artistic expressions as well. Our faculty includes market experts with a profound knowledge of art today and a professional background in culture, society and contemporary thought.
The Ideal Location
The Bachelor in Art History is taught on a campus of historical and artistic importance, the 13th century Convent of Santa Cruz La Real in Segovia. The city of Segovia has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage location, and is only 25 mintues from Madrid by high speed train. Madrid is a world of art and culture in itself, with the famous El Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen Bornemisza museums that contain many of the greatest masterpieces from Art History.
The program is designed with a professional application. Contemporary art accounts for 60% of all career opportunities in the art world. By studying current art trends as well as business management principles, you will be prepared to work in and manage companies or institutions related to the arts.

The IE Module core courses are geared to train students to be responsible and entrepreneurial, with a global, innovative outlook. It comprises 4 main courses:
Business Management - The students at IE University create and manage projects.
Humanities - The students at IE University undertake projects without conceptual limitations.
Interpersonal skills - The students at IE University lead and carry out projects in teams.
Ethics - The Students at IE University create responsible and valuable projects.
