Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA)
Taught in English
At IE Business School we don't only educate professionals. We educate people, with the aim of enhancing their value in the business world and society in general.
The education and research IE delivers is flexible and integrated, focusing always on the market with the latest innovative learning techniques. We have created an enriching environment for our students at our campus in Segovia, where we cultivate multidisciplinary and multicultural learning.
Key features
Market Orientation
An IE Business School education is market-focused. Our learning method turns the theoretical into the practical. We regularly use case studies, business management simulations and real-life case discussion as learning tools in all our classrooms.
Furthermore, we are convinced that our students learn both in and out of the classroom. We have a close link to the business world, thanks to which our students can do obligatory internships with various companies, and companies can renew their vision at the regular on-campus conferences featuring experts and international leaders in politics, finance, economics and business. Students get involved in shared projects with real companies through our Corporate Partnerships division.
International Exchange
The international exchange experience is unique and unforgettable for our students. It helps them broaden their personal and business horizons and enjoy unique cultural and academic experiences.
At IE Business School we promote international exchanges with other universities. We currently have agreements with over 50 of the world's top universities.
Personal and Professional Skills
Nowadays, companies require certain personal and professional skills and abilities of their employees with which they can successfully accomplish their work. At IE Business School we encourage our students to learn how to work as part of a team, to practice negotiation skills, to develop their writing and speaking skills and to know how to lead people and projects. The development of these skills is integrated as part of the curriculum.
International Vision
Studying at IE Business School is an international experience. People from over 75 countries converge on our Madrid and Segovia campuses, resulting in an active and global community for sharing unique ideas and viewpoints.
Our students will be able to learn more languages during their studies and get involved in exchange programs and internships in foreign countries, as well as studying at partner universities.
Flexible and Interdisciplinary
Our flexible curriculum fosters a multidisciplinary education for students. Students may focus their studies strictly on business or choose from a great range of courses in IE University's various schools. IE Business School also offers double majors in collaboration with other IE University departments. These programs offer unique opportunities for students to pursue other academic interests in parallel with their business administration degree.
Learning 2.0
We use many original resources which are changing the way business is studied and the way business knowledge is shared. For example, IE's multimedia simulations help students experience real and critical business situations, instead of merely reading about them in a textbook. Similarly, they will have to apply their knowledge and experience in debating case studies and real-life team projects.
We equip our students to manage their daily work more efficiently and effectively by leveraging new technologies.
Curriculum
Our curriculum is both comprehensive and flexible. We take into account that IE graduates may in the future work in areas or industries which currently don't even exist. We prepare our students to tackle any business challenge and take advantage of opportunities.
The first half of the program focuses on core business and economics courses. Participation in the personal and professional skills development workshops is also required.
In the second half of the program, students can supplement their studies with electives in business or in other IE University departments.
Elective Tracks
Option 1: Expert
Business is something general, but concrete knowledge paves the way to stronger careers and in-depth studies. Since specialty programs are only 24 credits, students can easily add or modify them. Students actually enjoy great flexibility and enough time to decide what they really want. Advisors, students and professors are always at hand to help in this process.
Option 2: Double Major
IE Business School offers double majors in collaboration with other IE University departments. These programs offer unique opportunities for students to pursue other academic interests as they work on their degree. Students graduate in 4.5 years with two degrees from two different departments.
Option 3: Generalists
The difficult questions and problems of our day cannot be tackled by only one discipline or profession. This is why we have designed our curriculum so that students have the chance of approaching their education with a general focus, attending classes in other IE University schools.
Career opportunities
Business affects every corner of the world. No matter where you want to go in life, business will be there. At IE Business School you will learn much more than business administration. You will study abroad, select another degree or set the foundation toward a postgraduate degree. When you graduate, you will be prepared to make an impact in any field, not just business.
