Chemistry

The Chemistry academic curriculum is completely integrated with that of the St.Louis campus in Missouri. The students can transfer freely between the two campuses over the course of their undergraduate degree program. A student who enrolls in a bachelor's degree Chemistry program in Madrid, will normally spend the first two years in Madrid and then transfer directly to the St.Louis campus in Missouri to finish the final two years of the degree program. However, students can transfer the academic credits they earn while studying in Madrid to other US universities should they so wish.

The Chemistry BS program requires course work in Chemistry (48 hours), Mathematics and Physics (20 hours), and Arts Subjects and Electives (57 hours).The major includes a concentration of courses in Chemistry, including lecture courses as well as laboratory-oriented activities. The Chemistry program requires allied electives from the sciences and/or engineering. In addition, four open electives are included in the program. Together, the allied electives and open electives provide ample opportunity for students to consider majoring or minoring in another discipline

·Freshman students start by gaining a broad basis in Science and General Arts subjects

·The majority of the faculty members have terminal degrees in Chemistry and are performing cutting-edge research in this area.

·The degree awarded at the end of this career is Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.
