I. DIAGRAMAS
El verbo TO BE toma forma con cada pronombre defendiendo de si el pronombre es singular o plural según lo muestran las gráficas.

| Are they brothers? |
También se emplea para expresar estados de ánimo o condiciones permanentes. Por ejemplo:
He is tired
They are hungry
Is she English?

Expresiones como esta se forman con la conjunción SO y los auxiliares de todos los tiempos seguidos de un pronombre:
- So do I - So was I
- So do you - So were we
- So did they -So are they doing
I. NOT: NO. Not se usa para formar frases negativas. Para formar el negativo de una oración se emplea después del verbo auxiliar en los tiempos simples y en los compuestos, excepto en el TO BE y en otros irregulares:
- I'm not old - We have not bought a car
- I'm not hot - They had not arrived yet
- He does not study - He will not graduate
- She does not work - I am not going to travel
- You did not dance - I did not work
