Foundation Diploma in Performing Arts – Acting

All three diplomas include elements of acting, singing and dance. About 50% of your time will be spent concentrating on developing your specialist performing skill, these classes are supplemented by classes in the other two performing arts subjects, as well as cores studies.

The core classes include contextual and professional studies so you have a more in depth understanding of the industry you wish to enter. They also include audition preparation.

You perform in an end of year production, where you can apply all your performing arts skills, but with an emphasis on your main specialisation.

Our diplomas are taught over our full teaching year and are delivered via a combination of practical classes, workshop-style classes and rehearsal sessions, with some lectures and seminars. These largely practical courses are mainly assessed through continual assessment of work in class, plus performance assessments. There are also some written assignments.
