The 2010 Taipei International Gardening and Horticulture Exposition will be held for the
first time in Taiwan from November 6, 2010 to April 25, 2011 by the Taipei City Government and the Taiwan Floriculture Development Association, TFDA.
This grand event offers an excellent opportunity to inspire people’s concern for their living environment around the world, and stir them to make their homes, neighborhoods and communities more green, more energy efficient, and sustainable.
The theme of the Expo is “Riverlower.New Horizon”. Key design areas include
“Gardening”, “Technology”, and “Environmental Friendliness”. The convenient Expo
site covers 91.8 hectares in the heart of Taipei. The 15 major pavilions of the Expo will be distributed throughout the site.
Brief Introduction to Exhibition and Competition In cooperation with our sister cities and other organizations, we would like to invite you to join us for this extraordinary event. We sincerely hope that you will participate in the exhibition and competition (2010 Taipei International Gardening and Horticulture Exposition
– Exhibition and Competition for Global Garden Area and International Indoor
Floriculture) for the interchange of gardening and horticultural skills and experiences.
Global Garden Area
The Global Garden Area is situated in Taipei Art Park. The 17-hectare space is utilized
specifically for outdoor display. Adjacent to the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, a site boasting
great cultural richness, the Global Garden Area is itself blessed with unique cultural
character.
Bringing together gardening and horticultural experiences, the Global Garden Area will
be used to host the outdoor garden competition. The competition organizers have designated nine classes of Exhibition / Competition. Judging criteria will include garden
design, facilities, and materials. Exhibitors may apply for different classes depending on
their strengths and expertise. The deadline for application is 31 December, 2008.
International Indoor Floriculture Area Located inside the EXPO Dome in Yuanshan Park, this pavilion will offer a total of 31,051 M² of floor space for displaying floricultural skills and techniques from different countries, integrating environmental ideology and technology.
The pavilion will comprise 19 classes. Class 1 to Class 16 is for competition; applicants
interested in competition may enter any class among them. Classes 17 to 19 are for exhibition only, and will not be judged or awarded any medals or prizes. The deadline for application is 31 October, 2009.
Privilege Package
The organizers of this exposition will offer participants a privilege package including financial subsidies of NT$ 2.5 million (about US$ 80,000, NT$1: US$32) per unit of 300 M². Please note that the organizers reserve the right to accept or reject applications because of space limitations or other reasons. Therefore, we strongly recommend submitting your application and the Letter of Intent before 31 December, 2008.
If you are interested in taking part in any exhibition or competition, we would like to
invite you to attend the Signing Ceremony of the Expo, a magnificent event to be hosted by the Taipei City Government in March, 2009. We believe this gala event will be an excellent platform for generating publicity for your city or country.
