Para quienes no lo es se trata de una metodolog\u00eda que sirve como punto de inicio y base de otros estilos m\u00e1s sencillos o avanzados, pues permite zambullirse en los principios y fundamentos sobre los cuales se basa esta pr\u00e1ctica milenaria. \u00bfTe interesa el tema? Sigue leyendo porque hemos preparado un art\u00edculo para profundizar al respecto.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Un poco de contexto hist\u00f3rico<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>El t\u00e9rmino \u2018yoga\u2019 tiene una ra\u00edz s\u00e1nscrita y se puede traducir como \u2018uni\u00f3n\u2019. A lo largo de los siglos se ha ido desarrollando con el \u00fanico objetivo de permitir que, mediante el movimiento del cuerpo, podamos alcanzar un estado mental balanceado que nos permita gozar de buena salud f\u00edsica y emocional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En India, de donde es originario, se cree que el yoga es la uni\u00f3n entre el cuerpo y el esp\u00edritu. De hecho, los primeros yoguis dedicaron su vida a estudiar y desarrollar una t\u00e9cnica que les permitiera trazar un puente entre el hombre como materia y su esp\u00edritu. A trav\u00e9s del movimiento, de reposar el cuerpo en diferentes posturas, de cambios en su alimentaci\u00f3n y del manejo de la respiraci\u00f3n, terminaron de darle forma a lo que com\u00fanmente se conoce como \u2018Ciencia del Yog\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En el siglo II a.C., un yogui llamado Patanjali dedic\u00f3 su vida a recopilar estos estudios hechos por sus predecesores y los orden\u00f3 en lo que posteriormente denomin\u00f3 Yoga- Sutras. A\u00f1os m\u00e1s tarde, Gorakshanata dividi\u00f3 los pasos de Patanjjali en dos grandes partes: el hatha yoga (que incluye el yamas, niyamas, asanas, pranayama) y el Raja Yoga (que incluye el pratyahara, dharana, dhyana y samadhi).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Hatha Yoga espec\u00edficamente tiene varias definiciones. Una de ellas es que se trata del yoga \u2018solar y lunar\u2019, pues el t\u00e9rmino Hatha est\u00e1 conformado por la uni\u00f3n de dos vocablos: \u2018ha\u2019 que significa sol y \u2018tha\u2019, que significa luna. Otro de sus significados es que es el yoga del poder, la fuerza y el esfuerzo, raz\u00f3n por la cual es asociada al esfuerzo f\u00edsico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Hatha yoga est\u00e1 compuesto por cuatro niveles:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Yamas o abstinencias.<\/li><li>Niyamas u observancias.<\/li><li>Asanas o posturas corporales<\/li><li>Pranayama o dominio de la respiraci\u00f3n.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u00bfQu\u00e9 otros tipos de yoga existen?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Con el pasar del tiempo, el yoga ha ido evolucionando y dicha evoluci\u00f3n ha dado paso a diferentes tipos. Estas posturas van m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del movimiento aer\u00f3bico que implican porque contemplan la anatom\u00eda del cuerpo y cada una trabaja uno o varios m\u00fasculos espec\u00edficos.
