\u00bfTienes dificultades para usar either\/neither y or\/nor?<\/p>\n

Si tu respuesta es un s\u00ed, no te preocupes, no eres el \u00fanico. Cuando est\u00e1s aprendiendo ingl\u00e9s, ayuda saber peque\u00f1os trucos de gram\u00e1tica que te ayudan a saber las diferencias de uso  entre palabras como \u00e9stas.<\/p>\n

Either<\/em> y neither<\/em> pueden ser usados de varias maneras: como adverbios, determinantes, pronombres y conjunciones.<\/p>\n

Mientras \u00abeither\u00bb tiene una connotaci\u00f3n posivita<\/strong>, \u00abneither\u00bb tiene un significado negativo<\/strong>. Siempre los encontrar\u00e1s emparejados de esta forma: either\/or<\/em> y neither\/nor<\/em>.<\/p>\n

A continuaci\u00f3n te dejamos los diferentes usos que tienen.<\/p>\n

\n

Adverbios<\/h3>\n

Cuando los encontramos comport\u00e1ndose como adverbios, ninguno de los dos se convierte en palabras de enlace. Ejemplos:<\/p>\n

               > I don’t like spinach. – Neither<\/u> do I.<\/em><\/p>\n

               > I don’t like mushrooms. – No, I don’t like them either<\/u>.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n

Determinantes<\/h3>\n

En el caso de los determinantes, ninguno de los dos va antes del sustantivo:<\/p>\n

               > The house has a door at either<\/u> end.\"kaplan\"<\/em><\/p>\n

               > Neither<\/u> journalist could finish their articles; there wasn’t enough time.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n

Pronombres<\/h3>\n

Para todos los casos donde either<\/em> and neither<\/em> se comportan como pronombres, la estructura de la oraci\u00f3n ser\u00eda:<\/p>\n

either\/neither<\/strong> seguido de of<\/strong> + frase nominal<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cuando act\u00faa como pronombres, either<\/em> significa \u00abuno o el otro\u00bb mientras neither<\/em> significa \u00abni uno ni el otro\u00bb<\/p>\n

               > Both these roads go to Rome; you can go either<\/u> way.<\/em><\/p>\n

               > Neither<\/u> of my arms is strong enough to lift that suitcase.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n

Conjunciones<\/h3>\n

En todos los casos donde encontramos either<\/em> y neither<\/em> como conjunciones, podemos encontralos tambi\u00e9n combinados con \u00abor\u00bb y \u00abnor\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Either\/or: <\/strong> Se usan juntos para ofrecer una elecci\u00f3n entre dos cosas<\/p>\n

               > You can either<\/u> call me at home or<\/u> at the office.<\/em><\/p>\n

               > Either<\/u> mum or<\/u> dad will come to pick you up.<\/em><\/p>\n

Neither\/nor:<\/strong> Cuando est\u00e1n emparejadas niegan ambas partes de una declaraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

               > Neither<\/u> the blue one nor<\/u> the red is available in size 4.<\/em><\/p>\n

               > I will neither<\/u> call you nor<\/u> send you a message before midnight.<\/em><\/p>\n
