Would you like to study Medicine abroad and still hold a degree recognised by the WHO? If so, the University of Debrecen will welcome you to their six-year degree in Hungary. During this period of time you will be trained and taught to become a responsible and skilled doctor.

You may be concerned about the recognition of the degree outside of Hungary; however, this degree allows you to work in all the EU countries and some other states around the world. This University also offers competitive tuition fees and reasonable living costs.

Medical studies take six years (ten semesters and one year internship). During the first two years students will focus on the theoretical aspects of medicine, in order to acquire an appropriate foundation for future medical subjects. In the 3rd year students will be taught the theoretical and initial traits of diseases, as well as an introduction to internal medicine and surgery. Through the 4th and 5th year students continue with the study of clinical subjects and start with pharmacology. In the last year of this Medicine degree, students must complete their internships by undertaking examinations for each of these fields: internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, neurology, psychiatry and pediatrics. In addition, they have to submit a thesis.

Apart from learning this joyful profession, you have the opportunity of learning Hungarian. It is true that the language of instruction is English. However, foreign students are required to learn Hungarian in order to be able to communicate with patients from the third year on.

The city of Debrecen is the perfect place to combine social and student life. Within its 200,000 inhabitants, it offers all the comfort of a big city and all the advantages of a little town. Furthermore, students can choose from a wide-range of extra-curricular activities, such as sports clubs.

Lo mejor: The University has surpassed my initial expectations, especially its medical campus (I confess I haven’t yet had a chance to explore any of the other campuses). It combines both the breathtaking beauty of the main building “Kossuth” and the stunning architecture of the more modern buildings, with their glass-fronted spacious designs. The campus life here has really surprised me; I expected it to be a fairly unfamiliar atmosphere with thousands of busy bustling students going about their daily lives; however I couldn’t have been more wrong, I’ve found it to be incredibly familiar and friendly place, filled with sociable people from across the world. The University also runs a well-established Erasmus program for 4th and 5th year students and whilst I have not yet benefited from it I am looking forward to it immensely. It offers you the opportunity to do a whole semester abroad at any university participating in the Erasmus program, of which there are many. The university obviously receives many Erasmus students, which provides a fantastic opportunity to make friends and further connections across the world. Also in the 6th year - the fina#0;0#0;ualifying

Lo mejor: I am from the UK and applied for Medicine at the university of Debrecen and passed successfully now in my first year settled in and starting my journey. Sandor has been great help for me and my family in being a great support system for helping me to apply for the University Of Debrecen, succeed in the entrance exam and settle in into the university. Moving to Debrecen to study can be very frightening but Sandor made it all very easy and it has by far been one of the best decisions I have made to come over here with the help of Sandor. He does not only help in the academic area but also in the day to day life in the sense that you can call him to translate for you when ordering a pizza! Being disheartened once not getting into medical school in London it was very difficult to find the motivation to study again but the University of Debrecen brought back my motivation having being a very exciting journey with the best help one can get.
A mejorar: There is nothing yet.
