Energy International Trainee Programme

DNV (Det Norske Veritas) is an independent foundation with the purpose of safeguarding life, property, and the environment. Our history goes back to 1864, when the foundation was established in Norway to inspect and evaluate the technical condition of Norwegian merchant vessels.

ince then, our core competence has been to identify, assess, and advise on how to manage risk. Whether we classify a ship, certify an automotive company’s management system, or advise on how to best maintain an aging oil platform, our focus is to safely and responsibly improve business performance.

Managing risk

As a leading international provider of services for managing risk, the point of managing risk is not necessarily to eliminate risk, but to have an overview of the most critical risks and manage them professionally. IT risk management and software products

Career development in DNV

DNV is a large, global organisation with many opportunities for you to develop as a person and as a professional within your field of interest.

After an introduction course at the DNV head office in Høvik, outside Oslo, trainees will complete three modules of eight months each:

• Period 1: training in the home region
• Period 2: training in a region abroad
• Period 3: training in the home region, but in another office/unit than during period 1.

After completion of the two-year trainee programme, participants start working in their home region. In the longer term, they may choose to pursue international career opportunities within DNV.
