Este curso de nivel CAE(C1) está indicado para los alumnos con un nivel B2+ que quieren obtener el certificado CAE de Cambridge en el examen de Julio 2017 en Valencia. Durante el curso se preparará la gramática y el vocabulario requeridos en este nivel, prestando especial atención a la parte oral. El alumno aprenderá a poner en práctica los conocimientos adquiridos tanto en el examen como en contextos reales prácticos.En el curso de CAE se trabajarán todas las áreas esenciales (Reading, Writing, Use of English, Listening, Speaking) para lograr el éxito en el examen oficial. El profesor titulado asignado al curso llevará un seguimiento exhaustivo de cada alumno, con pruebas periódicas para asegurar un aprendizaje progresivo y verificar los progresos del alumno.

Introduction to Course Format and Student/Teacher Presentations

Exam overview of all 5 parts of the exam:
Use of English and Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking
Map of the contents:
1) Events, issues and the media. Grammar: review of Past, Present and Future tenses. Vocabulary: Collocations and Frequently confused words. Writing: linking words and write an Essay
2) Travel, customs and traditions. Grammar: Participle clauses. Vocabulary: Prefixes, Sufixes and academic expressions. Writing: Report.
Mock exam (Use of English and Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking)
3· Human behaviour and relationships. Grammar: Reported Speech. Vocabulary: Collocations and Idioms with Keep. Writing: Formal, informal and neutral Style. Writing Letters.
4) Money and Business. Grammar: Passive forms and Causatives. Vocabulary: fixed phrases, Phrasal verbs with out and money vocabulary. Writing: Essay, addition links and achieving balance.

5) Health and Sport, Conditionals including mixed forms and forms without if. Vocabulary: word building, suffixes and compound adjectives. Writing: Proposal, purpose links, text organization.
6) The arts and entertainment. Grammar: Verbs patterns +-ing or infinitive. Vocabulary: Collocations and frequently confused words. Writing: Review, praising and criticism.

7) Nature and the environment. Grammar: Inversion after negative adverbials. Vocabulary: Collocations, phrasal verbs with on and idioms. Writing: Essay, sentence adverbs and paraphrasing notes.
8) Education, learning and work. Grammar: Relative clauses and Introductory it/what. Vocabulary: Affixes and spelling changes. Writing: letter formal language and text organization.

9) Science and Technology. Grammar: Modals, including passive and continuous forms. Vocabulary: dependent prepositions and Science lexis. Writing: Report, result links and text organization.
10) Psychology and personality. Grammar: Whishes and regrets. Vocabulary: Three-part phrasal verbs and Adjectives of personality. Writing: Concession and opening paragraphs.
