Data for Effective Policy Making
-
I'm a Programme development assistant officer and I assist with audits for the school's credibility. Updating and creating policies which requires a lot of data research and analyzing as well as gathering data from companies and the community. This course helped me tremendously in understanding the dynamics of data and how you can use it effectively for creating great and informative policies, which in turn helped the school with moving forward in becoming one of the top schools for studying and students benefiting from quality education.

Data for Effective Policy Making The course aimed at policymaking, but besides that teach critical thinking and data analysis. After I took the course the graph that I show in my class improve a lot, there were richer in information and simple to understand; at the same time I teach how to use the data that we have access to my students, therefore they can support their projects in a more concise way. Besides the classroom, the ability to manage data helped me to show programs results and impact in a new and more efficient way; this makes it easier to get more support for the program.

The course taught me (which I later taught my students) how to use preexisting data to derive meanings about the Caribbean experience. I learned much from this and shared it with my colleagues.
